Since 1971, our family has been treading this wild, multi-faceted land for 4 generations. For over 50 years, track after track, hunt after hunt, we’ve been chasing down the exceptional wildlife in Cameroons. Ones worthy of a place in the Pantheon. Over the years, we have seen records fall. We have seen animals with extraordinary genetics offer trophies we never dared to dream of. But today, it is time to realize that hunting isn’t just a quest about centimeters. We have an unwavering passion for our animals, and they all have something unique to offer us.

FARO SAFARIS has been operating in the same area for 53 seasons, making us the oldest hunting operator in Cameroon still in activity. No one can claim to have hunted more Lord Derby elands than we have.

Although the government allows us to hunt up to 10 Giant Elands per season, we decide to hunt a maximum of 7/8 in order to have a sustainable and ageing population of these magnificent creatures. Depart at dawn in a 4X4, search for fresh tracks on the trail or saltlicks, track and approach the animals on foot with qualified & experienced Professional Hunters. This method will lead you through the initiatory meanders of wildlife & yourself discovery.

The 70,000-hectare area is located Northwestern Cameroon, bordering the Faro National Park. Access is from Ngaoundere. The journey takes about 4 hours driving.

HUNTING SEASON

January 1^st to May 31^st. Although the old Giant Eland bull dons a black neck during his rut (January to mid-March), our guests also enjoy the lushness of April & May.

FIREARMS

We recommend 375 H&H or 416 calibres, both of which are versatile for the game available on offer. A maximum of two rifled barrel guns is permitted by law.
